Dolphins Targeting Robert Griffin III?

Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post takes a look at the possiblity that the Miami Dolphins could target Baylor QB Robert Griffin III in next years draft.

Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland used his hometown connections to draft Abilene Christian wide receiver Clyde Gates in the fourth round last April,” writes Biggane. “Now the question beckons: Might he use his alma mater connections to find the franchise quarterback owner Stephen Ross has said he wants so badly?”

Matt Moore has done a pretty good job this season for the Dolphins but he’s hardly seen as the teams long-term solution at quarterback. The problem for the Dolphins is that their recent success is making it much harder for them to land one of the top quarterbacks and with Matt Barkley staying in USC, both Andrew Luck and RGIII could be off the board after the fifth pick.

We recently mentioned the possibility that Miami could look to deal OT Jake Long, who will be a free agent in 2013, in an attempt to trade up for one of the quarterbacks but that’s just a speculative idea at this point.
