Dolphins Trade CB Will Davis To Ravens For 2016 7th-Rd Pick

Update:

The Baltimore Ravens have confirmed that they are sending a 2016 seventh-round pick to the Dolphins in return for CB Will Davis.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Dolphins have traded CB Will Davis to the Ravens on Monday.

  • Rapoport adds that the Dolphins will receive a late-round draft pick in return for Davis.

Reports from a few weeks ago said that the Dolphins were fielding trade offers for Davis, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Davis, 25, is a former third-round draft pick of the Dolphins back in 2013. He’s entering the third year of his four-year, $2.701 million rookie contract that included a $521,200 signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $592,500 for the upcoming season.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Davis will free up $462,200 in cap space while creating $260,600 in dead money.

In 2014, Davis was limited to appearing in 10 games, in which he recorded 17 tackles and three pass defenses for Miami. It’s worth mentioning that Davis is coming off a torn ACL that he sustained back in November.
