Dolphins Waive DT Leon Orr Following Arrest

Dolphins HC Adam Gase told reporters on Wednesday that they waived DT Leon Orr during practice after the news of his recent arrest surfaced, per Adam Beasley.

Gase explained that he wants “people on his team who have the right priorities“, per Beasley.

Patrick Riley of the Naples Daily News reported that Orr was arrested Tuesday and faces charges for possession of marijuana and a controlled substance.

Orr posted $7,000 bond and now faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Orr, 24, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in May of last year. He was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason last year but was later signed to their practice squad.

Oakland eventually promoted Orr to their active roster last December. Unfortunately, the Raiders cut Orr loose coming out of the preseason before later signing on to their practice squad. The Dolphins signed him to their practice squad and promoted him to their active roster last month.

In 2016, Orr appeared in five games for the Dolphins and recorded one tackle.
