Dolphins Waive K Andrew Franks

The Miami Dolphins are placing K Andrew Franks on waivers Monday, according to his Twitter account.

Miami claimed K Cody Parkey off of waivers from the Browns on Sunday, so they clearly plan to move forward with him as their kicker this year.

Franks, 24, signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Rensselaer back in May of 2015. He was entering the final year of a three-year $1.575 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $615,000 this season.

In 2016, Franks appeared in all 16 games for Miami and recorded 16 field goals on 21 attempts (76.2 percent) to go along with 41 converted extra points on 42 attempts (97.6 percent), while kicking 43 touchbacks.
