Dolphins WR Tyler Murphy Reverts To I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Miami Dolphins officially placed placed WR Tyler Murphy on injured reserve Thursday after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

The Dolphins waived Murphy with the injury designation yesterday to make room for LB Danny Lansanah.

Murphy, 24, signed on with the Steelers back in as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $1.579 million rookie contract included a $4,500 signing bonus.

Murphy was waived a month into the season to make room for RB Le’Veon Bell, who has been reinstated from his suspension. After that, Murphy was on and off of the Steelers’ practice squad.

The Dolphins elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract in January.

In 2015, Murphy appeared in two games and caught one pass for 16 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
