Dolphins Worked Out WRs Devin Gardner & Robert Herron

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Miami Dolphins brought in wide receivers Devin Gardner, Josh Harper and Robert Herron for workouts this week.

It’s worth mentioning that the Dolphins signed Herron to their practice squad this week following his workout.

Gardner, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Michigan and has been making the transition from quarterback to receiver. The Patriots originally signed him to a contract after this year’s NFL draft before he was waived and later claimed by the Steelers.

At Michigan, Gardner threw for 6,336 yards while completing 60.4 percent of his passes to go along with 44 touchdowns to go along with 32 interceptions.

Herron, 23, was take in sixth round of last year’s draft by the Buccaneers. However, he was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and later ended up on Tampa Bay’s injured reserve list.

The Buccaneers later granted him his release.

In 2014, Herron appeared in eight games for the Bucs and caught six passes for 58 yards receiving and a touchdown.
