Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Dolphins worked out RB Boom Herron on Monday.
Miami is clearly keeping an eye on the available pool of running backs, including Arian Foster, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them bring someone in at some point in the next month or so.
Herron, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He spent just over a year in Cincinnati before the Colts signed him off of the Bengals’ practice squad. Indianapolis later signed him to an exclusive rights tender last year, but waived him from injured reserve with a settlement at the start of the season.
Unfortunately for Herron, the Colts declined to tender him a restricted offer before the start of free agency.
In 2014, Herron appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and ran for 351 yards on 78 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 21 receptions and 173 yards receiving and a touchdown.
