Dolphins Worked Out Veteran LB Jerry Franklin

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins also worked out veteran LB Jerry Franklin on Wednesday along with Brandon Spikes and one other free agent.

Franklin, 28, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas back in 2012. He spent just a few months in Denver before he was waived coming out of the preseason.

Since then, Franklin has played for a number of NFL teams including the Panthers, Cowboys, Bears, Chiefs and the Saints before signing a one-year contract with the Lions back in February.

Detroit ultimately elected to placed Franklin on waivers last week.

In 2014, Franklin appeared in seven games for the Chiefs and Saints and recordd four total tackles.
