Donald Jones & Michael Jenkins May Have To Compete For The Patriots No. 5 WR Job

Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston writes that the Patriots recent decision to draft WRs Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce could force Donald Jones and Michael Jenkins to compete for the team’s final receiver spot.

New England also signed Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman during free agency as well, so it seems likely that one of Jones or Jenkins will be released in the weeks leading up to the start of the regular season.

Boyce will miss the team’s rookie minicamp due to a broken bone in his foot. According to Field Yates, his status has been described as “day-to-day,” so there’s at least a chance that he’ll be back in time for training camp.
