Dontari Poe’s Visit With Dolphins Concludes Without A Deal

The Miami Dolphins announced that free agent DL Dontari Poe‘s visit has concluded without an agreement.

  • Jason La Canfora reports that this was Poe’s last scheduled visit and he now plans to fly back home and sort through his options.

Poe has now visited with the Colts, Jaguars, Falcons and Dolphins since the market officially opened last week.

ESPN’s Ed Werder reported a few weeks ago that there are some concerns about Poe’s back along with his overall price, which is why he hasn’t signed with a team yet.

Poe, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $11,320,006 contract but the Chiefs picked up his fifth-year option last year that will cost them $6.15 million for the 2016 season.

Poe is currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Poe has appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 27 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 46 interior defensive lineman out of 126 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
