Draft Rumors: Browns, Falcons, Giants, & Redskins

Draft

  • Albert Breer reports that Alabama WR Amari Cooper could go as high as No. 3 overall to the Jaguars, but won’t get past No. 6.
  • According to Albert Breer, the Giants and Rams are both targeting similar offensive lineman in the Top 10. Breer mentions that OT Andrus Peat could also be an option for them.
  • Interestingly enough, Breer says that the run on offensive linemen could happen earlier than people think, and could lead to a few teams trading up
  • On top of that, Breer believes FSU OL Cameron Erving has a shot to go in the teens.
  • The Broncos and Panthers are both targeting offensive linemen, according to Breer.
  • Breer mentions that Shane Ray is likely to slip, but will stay in Round 1; Randy Gregory is expected to drop out of Round 1; La’El Collins is off some team’s draft boards.
  • Breer isn’t ruling out Oregon State QB Sean Mannion or Baylor QB Bryce Petty being the third quarterback drafted, but neither will go in round one.
  • According to Breer, the Browns, Dolphins, and Chargers are all interested in RB Todd Gurley, who could be trade-up target.

Browns

  • Mark Maske reports that the Browns are still hopeful that they’ll be able to land a quarterback such as Marcus Mariota or Sam Bradford in a trade with the Eagles.

Falcons

  • The Falcons could still target an impact defender in round one.
  • Breer mentions that DE/OLB Bud Dupree could be their guy at No 8.
  • However, USC DL Leonard Williams could be appealing to them.

  • Albert Breer reports that there is a belief that Giants GM Jerry Reese would rather have a pass-rusher than an offensive lineman at No. 9.
  • However, Breer mentions that value may not be there for the Giants in terms of a pass-rusher.

Redskins

  • Albert Breer mentions that DE/OLB Dante Fowler, OL Brandon Scherff and OL Ereck Flowers could make sense for teh Redskins at No. 5.
  • Breer admits that they could still trade back, depending on how things go at the top.
