Draft Rumors: Buccaneers, Cowboys, Dolphins, Saints & Titans

 

Buccaneers

  • The Bucs will not inform the player they are taking with the number one overall pick of their decision until they are officially on the clock. (via Ed Werder)

Cowboys

  • WR Dorial Green-Beckham met with the Cowboys after initially declining their offer after Jerry and Stephen Jones made a plea for him to come in. (via Mike Garafolo)

Dolphins

  • Barry Jackson notes that the Dolphins have done extensive work with defensive tackles in this draft knowing that they lack depth. (Miami Herald)
  • Jackson identified potential second-rounders Jordan Phillips, Carl Davis, and Xavier Cooper as defensive tackles the team has brought in for visits, along with late-round prospect Darius Kilgo. (Miami Herald)
  • Jackson added that the Dolphins are looking for a developmental quarterback, and had private workouts with QB Garrett Grayson, Connor Halliday, Chris Donner and Andrew Hendrix.  Halliday, Donner and Hendrix may go undrafted, so Jackson believes they may wait until after the draft to add a prospect.   • Jackson also wrote that new Dolphins QB Josh Freeman is not a “threat” to QB Matt Moore. (Miami Herald)

Saints

  • Saints GM Mickey Loomis said that they will listen to trade offers to move either up or down, but that a trade is unlikely. (Brett Martel)
  • Loomis stressed that the goal of the draft is to make the team better “right now.” (Brett Martel)

Titans

  • Jim Wyatt does not believe that a Titans trade for Chargers QB Philip Rivers is going to happen. (Jim Wyatt)
  • Wyatt seems to believe that Tennessee has two options on the eve of the draft: select Oregon QB Marcus Mariota or trade down. (Jim Wyatt)
