Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune joined ProFootball TalK Live this afternoon and mentioned that Drew Brees could potentially hold out of the teams’ offseason workouts because of the lack of progress in regards to a long-term contract extension.
“Brees won’t be signing the tender and won’t be present when the Saints assemble for offseason workouts next month.”
The Saints elected to use apply their franchise to Brees rather than give in to his contract demands. Yesterday, it was reported that the Brees turned down an off that would have paid him $18.5 million per season which would be second only to Tom Brady know that Peyton Manning‘s contract has been voided.
If this situation isn’t rectified in the very near future, it could get pretty ugly down in New Orleans.
