Panthers Work Out CFL WR Duron Carter

Update:

Howard Balzer confirms that the Carolina Panthers did, in fact, work out CFL WR Duron Carter on Wednesday.

————-

Ben Goessling of ESPN reports that CFL WR Duron Carter will visit with Carolina Panthers on Wednesday.

  • Goessling adds that Carter’s next visits would likely be with the 49ers, Browns and Titans.

Last we heard regarding Carter, he was visiting with the Vikings, who are reportedly his top choice among NFL teams.

“It felt like being back home,” Duron Carter, the son of former Vikings WR Chris Carter said, via ESPN.com. “I used to run around that facility when I was little. It still hasn’t changed — I remember some of the cooking people, I still remember where everything is. When I was in for the rookie minicamp, it felt really overwhelming. But this was completely different from the minicamp, from the standpoint of them wanting me and pursuing me. It felt a lot better.

He has already worked out for the Colts and Buccaneers, so there is clearly a great deal of interest in the young receiver.

Previous reports mentioned that he could also meet with the Ravens, Seahawks, and Cardinals in the second leg of his tour.

Carter’s contract with the Montreal Alouettes ended a few months ago and he is now able to make visits with the NFL teams.

Carter, 23, caught 75 passes for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 40 yards rushing.

We’ll have more updates regarding Carter and his NFL options as the news is available.
