Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe chose to be absent for the start of team’s minicamp on Tuesday, according to the Kansas City Star.
The minicamp is mandatory for players that are under contract, but since Bowe has yet to sign his franchise tender, it obviously does not include him. The Chiefs and Bowe will have until July 16th to negotiate a new contract, but it seems more likely that Bowe will ultimately sign his tender and report to the team at some point during the offseason.
