Dwight Freeney Not Expected To Be Back With The Colts

Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com writes that Colts OLB Dwight Freeney is not expected to be back with the team next season.

This is hardly surprising given Freeney’s age and the fact that he no longer fits their defensive scheme. There was a lot of speculation last year that the Colts could look to trade Freeney, but his contract figure prevented them from doing so.

Indianapolis could look for an upgrade in the free agent market like Ravens OLB Paul Kruger who played for Chuck Pagano while in Baltimore or possibly target someone in the draft. Jerry Hughes could be given a shot as well.

We have Freeney listed as the No. 46 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
