According to Pro Football Weekly’s sources, Colts DE Dwight Freeney is unlikely to return to Indianapolis following the current season.
Ever since the Colt’s defense converted to a 3-4 defense, Freeney has struggled to adapt to the new system under Chuck Pagano and has produce only 4 tackles and 1 sack in five games played this season.
Having the added pressure of playing in a contract year at 32 years old and dealing with an ankle injury for most of the season, it seems as though the Colts will say goodbye to yet another fan favorite. We have Freeney tentatively listed as the No. 49 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
