E.J. Manuel In Position To Be The Second QB Drafted?

According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, there is a “feeling” around the league that Florida State QB E.J. Manuel could end up being the second quarterback off the board.

Pompei adds that teams have been “unable to sell themselves” on USC QB Matt Barkley, NC State QB Mike Glennon and Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib. There’s also a belief that Manuel could have more potential than any of them, due to his “raw talent.

Pompei admits that there’s “clearly is a bust factor” with Manuel, which is indicative of the difference of opinion regarding this year’s quarterback class.

Manuel was invited to attend this year’s NFL Draft in New York, so the league clearly believes he’s in the discussion to be drafted in the first-round. Many expect to see teams trade up for quarterback towards the end of round one, so there’s a chance that two or three of these guys could be taken on day one.
