Eagles Activate DT Tim Jernigan, Waive T.Y. McGill

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve activated DT Timmy Jernigan from NFI list on Tuesday and waived DT T.Y. McGill.

Here’s the Eagles updated practice squad:

  1. DE Joe Ostman
  2. WR Braxton Miller
  3. WR Dorren Miller
  4. LB Asantay Brown
  5. LB B.J. Bello
  6. RB Donnel Pumphrey
  7. DT Bruce Hector
  8. TE Will Tye
  9. C Anthony Fabiano
  10. CB Jeremiah McKinnon

Jernigan, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2014. Baltimore later traded Jernigan and a third-round pick to the Eagles in return for a third-round pick last year.

Jernigan was in the final year of his four-year, $4.382 million contract that included $2.126 million guaranteed when the Eagles signed him to a four-year extension, $48 million extension that includes $26 million fully guaranteed last year.

In 2017, Jernigan appeared in 15 games for the Eagles and recorded 29 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 35 interior defender out of 122 qualifying players.

McGill, 25, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State back in 2015. He lasted just a few months in Seattle before he was claimed off of waivers by the Colts.

McGill had had brief stints with the Browns, and Chiefs before the Chargers waived him last month and he was later claimed by the Eagles. Philadelphia waived him the following day with a failed physical designation earlier this month only to bring him back a few weeks ago.

In 2018, McGill has appeared in two games and recorded three tackles and no sacks.
