Eagles Activate RT Lane Johnson From Suspended List, Place RB Kenjon Barner On I.R.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Tuesday that they’ve place RB Kenjon Barner (hamstring) on injured reserve and activated RT Lane Johnson from the suspended list.

Johnson received a 10-game suspension from the NFL for testing positive for a banned substance.

According to Johnson, he took an amino acid that was approved but still triggered positive for peptide. He tried to fight his case against the NFL, but ultimately served the entire ban.

Johnson, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He had one year remaining on his four-year, $19.853 million rookie contract when the Eagles elected to sign him to a five-year extension worth $56.26 million that can max out at $60.01 million based on Pro Bowl escalators back in January.

Philadelphia is obviously planning for him to eventually take over for Jason Peters at left tackle.

This season, Johnson has appeared in four games for the Eagles.
