Eagles Adjusting Their Asking Price For Kevin Kolb?

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles are looking for a one or two veteran player in return for QB Kevin Kolb rather than the first-round pick that has been previously reported.

The Eagles are believed to be targeting veteran players that can come in and help them win immediately rather waiting to take a future draft pick.

One early name that’s being tossed out there is Arizona Cardinals CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie who fill a need at cornerback for the Eagles while Arizona seems to be set with Patrick Peterson. This idea remains purely speculative so far and Darren Urban of ArizonaCardinals.com writes that the team isn’t willing to trade a cornerback and would rather have three solid players at the position.

Another thing to consider is that the Cardinals do not have to trade for Kolb because it’s more of a buyers market when it comes to quarterbacks. Trading away decent players or a first-round pick in return for a largely unproven commodity that will require a large contract doesn’t make that much sense. They can still bring in one of Kyle Orton, Donovan McNabb, Vince Young, Marc Bulger or Matt Hasselbeck to play quarterback for the upcoming season without paying the huge asking that Kolb will require.
