Eagles Are Likely To Start Michael Vick In Week 17

Eagles head coach Andy Reid told reporters that rookie QB Nick Foles suffered a broken hand during Sunday’s loss to the Washington Redskins, per Jeff McLane.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles will most likely give Michael Vick another start in Week 17 when they take on the New York Giants.

“He obviously deserves (an) opportunity to play,” said Reid on Monday, per Geoff Mosher. “He’s excited about it. … And ready to go.”

This figures to be both Vick and Reid’s final game with Eagles, but Vick really has a lot to play for in this game. He figures to draw interest from one of the quarterback-needy teams, so a strong performance could at least increase his value to some degree. Matt Flynn secured a $19.5 million contract based on a single strong outing, so it’s fair to assume that Vick could surpass that figure.
