Eagles Could Be Targeting Browns LB’s Coach Billy Davis For Defensive Coordinator

Tim McManus of Philly Mag reports that he’s been told to keep an eye on Browns linebackers coach Billy Davis regarding the Eagles defensive coordinator vacancy.

Davis is currently with the Browns, but has had two previous stints as a defensive coordinator in his 22 years of coaching with the Cardinals (2009-10) and 49ers  (2005-06). The Eagles are looking to make a transition into a 3-4 defense, which coincides with the system that Davis runs.

Another name floating around in Philadelphia is that of Ed Donatell, 49ers defensive backs coach, who was endorsed by Brian Dawkins after the two of them spent time together in Denver.
