Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Eagles have restructured DE Brandon Graham‘s contract and in turn given him the opportunity to earn an additional $1.5 million over the next two years.
According to Yates, Graham could earn $250,000 guaranteed if he records at least seven sacks this season with an additional $250,000 if he gets nine. He could also secure another $250,000 by being voted to the Pro Bowl on the original ballot.
Graham’s 2018 base salary could also increase by as much as $750,000 by totaling 12 sacks this season. If he registers seven sacks, his salary will increase by $250,000 and can increase by another $250,000 by reaching nine sacks.
Should he make the Pro Bowl on the original ballot or is voted to first- or second-team All NFL Team, his base salary will increase another $250,000.
With the restructured deal, Graham can earn an additional $500,000 in 2017 and $1 million in 2018, bringing his total pay to $14.5 million over the next two seasons.
Graham, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back n 2010. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $26 million contract that included $14 million guaranteed and was set to make base salaries of $6.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2016, Graham appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 27 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 pass rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
