Eagles DE Brandon Graham Planning To Hold Out For New Contract?

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the reports thatĀ Eagles DE Brandon Graham could hold out for a new deal are “unsubstantiated” and he’s currently with his family in Detroit.

La Canfora adds that Graham is eager for the 2017 season toĀ get underway.

Jeff McLane of Philly.com, citing two NFL sources, reports that Eagles DE Brandon Graham plans to skip organized team activities later this month and possibly hold out of minicamp in June for a renegotiated contract.

Graham declined to comment on the report, but texted McLane: ā€œCanā€™t talk about contract stuff right now.”

Graham attended the first stage of voluntary workouts.

McLane mentions that Graham may actually have some leverage with the Eagles, as he’s coming off of a productive season is arguably the team’s best pass rusher.

McLane, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back n 2010. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $26 million contract that included $14 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $6.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Graham appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 27 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 pass rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
