Eagles Expected To Target WR Kenny Stills In Free Agency

Eliot Shorr-Park of NJ.com, citing a source familiar with the situation, reports that if Dolphins WR Kenny Stills ends up testing the open market, the Eagles are expected to make a push to sign him.

A few weeks ago, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported that the Dolphins are scheduled to meet with the agent for Stills and are hoping to establish the starting point for negotiations with him moving forward.

Beyond that, Dolphins GM Chris Grier mentioned that they’re hoping to bring back Stills next year.

“It’s important for us to bring him back,” Grier said. “We’d like to have him back. It’s his right to test the market and see what he can get, but we’d like to have him back.”

While it’s clear that they’d like to keep Stills in Miami, it’s also possible that his asking price could end up being rather high, as he’s in line to be one of the best available receivers in a limited group of free agents. The Dolphins are also expected to discuss a long-term deal with Jarvis Landry this offseason, which could end up being a sizeable contract in the end.

It shouldn’t come as a big surprise to hear that the Eagles will have interest in a top receiver option, considering how little they got from the position last year.

Stills, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Saints back in 2013. He spent two years in New Orleans before he was traded to the Dolphins in return for a third-round pick that became CB P.J. Williams and LB Dannell Ellerbe.

In 2016, Stills appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and caught 42 passes for 726 yards receiving and nine touchdowns.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
