Eagles Expected To Hire Dolphins DC Matt Burke As Top Aide To Jim Schwartz

Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Eagles are expected to hire Dolphins DC Matt Burke as a top aide to DC Jim Schwartz.

It was clear Burke was going to be out in Miami after they agreed to bring in Brian Flores as their next head coach.

Burke, 42, began his coaching career at Bridgton Academy back in 1998. He worked for a few NFL teams including the Titans, Lions and Bengals before the Dolphins hired him as their linebackers coach in 2016.

The Dolphins would later promote Burke to defensive coordinator after the Broncos hired Vance Joseph.

In 2016, the Dolphins ranked No. 25 in points allowed, No. 30 in yards allowed, No. 31 in rushing yards allowed and No. 19 in passing yards allowed.
