Eagles Expected To Start Mark Sanchez In Week 11, Sam Bradford Out At Least 1 Game

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Eagles QB Sam Bradford is expected to miss Sunday’s game and possible Week 12’s game as well based on initial tests.

  • Rapoport adds that it’s just too much to expect Bradford to return from a concussion and separated shoulder in time to play in Week 11.

This, of course, means that Mark Sanchez is likely to draw the start against the Buccaneers this weekend.

Bradford reportedly has an AC sprain in his non-throwing shoulder to go along with a concussion, so even if he was able to manage the pain from his shoulder injury, he would still have to pass the NFL’s concussions protocol.

In relief of Bradford, Mark Sanchez completed 14-of-23 passes for 156 yards and an interception during their Week 10 loss to the Dolphins.

Bradford, 28, is in the final year of his six-year, $78 million contract that included $50 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $12.985 million for the 2015 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.

Entering today’s game, Bradford has thrown for 2,061 yards while completing 62.9 percent of his passes to go along with 10  touchdown passes and 10  interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 18 quarterback out of 36 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Bradford’s injury as the news is available.
