Eagles Frachise WR DeSean Jackson

ESPN’s Adam Schfter reports that the Philadelphia Eagles have placed their franchise tag on WR DeSean Jackson.

We want DeSean to be an Eagle for the long haul and this is a step in the right direction to accomplish that,”said GM Howie Roseman.

This had been reported a number of times previously and the Eagles have done their best to support him throughout the offseason. The move will cost Philadelphia $9.4 million for the 2012 season but reports have mentioned that the Eagles will field offers for him so there’s still a chance that he could be traded at some point during the offseason but no guarantees.

The Browns have been the popular speculative options thus far.
