Eagles Give DL Cedric Thornton A Second-Round Tender

According to Jason Fitzgerald of OverTheCap.com, the Eagles have placed a second-round tender on DL Cedric Thornton.

This means would pay him a salary of $2.356 million for the 2015 season if/when he signs the tender.

Because Thornton is a restricted free agent, he could wait and see if there are any teams interested in making him a better offer in the coming weeks.

Thornton, 26, signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Arkansas back in 2011.

Last year, Thornton appeared in 16 games and recorded 52 tackles, one sack, three fumbles recoveries, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 defensive end in a 3-4 defense out of 47 qualifying players in 2014.
