Eagles Have Expressed “Serious Interest” In RB Frank Gore

Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com, citing a person with knowledge of the situation, reports that the Eagles have expressed “serious interest” in free-agent running back Frank Gore.

  • According to Shorr-Parks, a deal with Gore could get done as early as Tuesday.

It appears as though the Eagles are considering Gore as a more reasonably priced replacement to LeSean McCoy, who was trade to the Buffalo Bills earlier in the week.

The 49ers have made it clear that they’re interested in retaining Gore, which includes Jed York recently telling reporters that they’ll find a way to get a deal in place.

I think we’ll figure out a way. That’s my feeling,” said York, via Eric Branch.

Gore, 31, played out his three-year, $19,212,550 contract with the 49ers, which included $13.5 million guaranteed.

In 2014, he ran for 1,106 yards on 255 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 111 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has Gore rated as the No. 26 running back out of 57 qualifying players.

We have Gore listed as the No. 37 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
