Eagles Hire Ed Marynowitz As VP Of Player Personnel

Pro Football Talk first reported that the Eagles were expected to promote Ed Marynowitz as Chip Kelly’s personnel executive as soon as Thursday.

Statement from Marynowitz:

“I’m excited and appreciative about the opportunity Mr. Lurie, Chip Kelly and the Eagles organization have given me.”

Statement from Kelly:

Ed is very bright, detailed, organized and his vision was aligned with what we want to accomplish.”

The Eagles new power structure appears to have drastically limited the number of candidates interested in taking the position.

Numerous reports from recent days have said that a number of candidates turned the opportunity to even interview for the job, which likely forced Kelly to look internally for a replacement.

Marynowitz joined the Eagles a few years ago when took a job as assistant director of pro scouting. He was later promoted to assistant director of player personnel in 2013, so he has quickly worked his up in the organization.
