Eagles Interview RBs Coach Duce Staley For HC Job

Ed Werder reports that the Eagles have already interviewed RBs coach Duce Staley for the HC vacancy.

According to Werder, the interview took place on Friday, so it appears as though the Eagles are moving quickly in regards to finding their next head coach.

By interviewing Staley, they’ve fulfilled the Rooney Rule requirement that ensures at least one minority candidate interviews for every open position.

Louis Riddick mentions that he has a great deal of respect for Staley, whom he views as a “future star head coach.”

Since the Eagles somewhat surprising moved on from HC Chip Kelly earlier in the week, reports have said that Philadelphia has been doing a lot of work on potential candidates for their head-coaching position.

Bears OC Adam Gase and Bengals OC Paul Guenther have both come up in recent days as names to keep an eye on along with speculative options such as Panthers DC Sean McDermott, Lions DC Teryl Austin and Panthers OC Mike Shula.

We’ll have more regarding the Eagles’ head-coaching position as the news is available.
