Eagles Likely To Release CB Daryl Worley Following Arrest

According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer, it’s “likely, though not certain” that the Eagles will release CB Daryl Worley following his recent arrest Sunday morning.

Bowen adds that discussions are currently being held among various parties regarding Worley.

Mike Garafolo mentions that the Panthers were set to release Worley before they traded him to the Eagles in return for WR Torrey Smith last month.

Worley was arrested at 6 am Sunday morning in Philadelphia when he became combative with police and they used a taser on him. Worley was reportedly found passed out inside a vehicle blocking a highway. 911 was called and he was later arrested.

The incident reportedly took place near the Eagles’ facility.

Eagles statement:

“We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning.

Worley, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2016. He’s currently entering the third year of his four-year, $3.23 million contract and set to make base salaries of $630,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

The Panthers traded him to the Eagles in return for WR Torrey Smith last month.

In 2017, Worley appeared in 15 games and recorded 64 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 89 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Worley’s arrest as the news is available.
