Eagles Looking To Trade For A “Starting-Caliber” Safety, Dashon Goldson & Michael Griffin Options?

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to add a “starting-caliber” safety to their roster.

According to Florio, the Eagles are happy with free safety Malcolm Jenkins. However, they are reportedly looking to upgrade their strong safety position, which is not good news for current starter Nate Allen.

Florio mentions that potential trade targets for the Eagles are currently unknown, but Ian Rapoport tosses out Buccaneers S Dashon Goldson and Titans S Michael Griffin, who can both be had at right price.

Goldson’s name has been floated as a guy who could be available and Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com previously mentioned that Tennessee could field offers for Griffin.

We’ll have more updates leading up to Tuesday’s trade deadline.
