Eagles Worked Out WR Jordan Matthews

According to Howard Eskin, free agent WR Jordan Matthews is at the Eagles’ facility on Tuesday and it’s possible Philadelphia could sign him to a contract for their Week 3 matchup.

The Eagles could really use some receiver depth and Matthews knows the team’s offense and is among the best available receivers right now.

Matthews, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. The Eagles traded Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick to the Bills in return for CB Ronald Darby last year.

Matthews played out the final year of his four-year, $4,949,269 contract and made a base salary of $1,094,901 for the 2017 season before signing a one-year contract with Patriots worth up to $1.7 million.

Unfortunately, the Patriots released Matthews during the preseason with an injury settlement.

In 2017, Matthews appeared in 10 games and caught 25 passes for 282 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Bills. Unfortunately, Matthews’ season ended with him being placed on injured reserve.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
