Eagles’ OLB Brandon Graham & DE Vinny Curry Possibly On The Trading Block This Offseason?

Sheil Kapadia of Birds 24/7 was asked whether or not he believes the Eagles could consider trading one of OLB Brandon Graham or DE Vinny Curry this offseason.

According to Kapadia, there’s a “decent chance” that Graham or Curry gets traded at some point in the next few months.

Kapadia mentions that there has been some confusion regarding how many years Graham is currently under contract. Kapadia cites a tweet from Joel Corry of CBS Sports who mentions that Graham’s contract will void on the fifth day following the 2015 Super Bowl.

This is important detail because it’s unlikely that an NFL would offer much in terms of compensation for Graham if he’s only under team control for another year.

  • It’s worth noting that Graham was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 16 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense last year.

As for Curry, Kapadia believes he would be a better fit in 4-3 defensive scheme and mentions that he got the sense that the Eagles’ coaching staff didn’t seem him as a great fit in their system last year.

Curry, 25, is no stranger to trade rumors as his name was floated as someone who could have been on the move at last year’s trade deadline.

Philadelphia could use more depth on the defensive line as well as an inside linebacker and a safety, so it will be interesting to see if they elect to look to the trade market for either draft compensation or potential upgrades in the coming months.
