Eagles Place DE Derek Barnett On Injured Reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles officially placed DE Derek Barnett on injured reserve Thursday.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as Barnett is reportedly undergoing shoulder surgery and was expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Barnett, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $12.85 million contract that includes $12.85 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $1.04 million and $1.63 million over the next two years of the agreement.

The Eagles have a fifth-year option to pick up for the 2021 season.

In 2018, Barnett appeared in six games for the Eagles and recorded 17 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
