Eagles Place S Chris Maragos On IR, Promote LB Nate Gerry

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday that they’ve placed S Chris Maragos (knee) on injured reserve and promoted LB Nate Gerry to their active roster.

  • The Eagles also signed WR Rashard Davis to their practice squad.

The Eagles’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. C Josh Andrews
  2. TE Billy Brown
  3. T Dillon Gordon
  4. RB Byron Marshall
  5. QB Nate Sudfeld
  6. DB De’Vante Bausby
  7. WR Greg Ward
  8. DB D.J. Killings
  9. DE Alex McCalister
  10. WR Rashard Davis

Maragos is believed to have suffered a torn PCL, but the good news is that his ACL appears to be intact.

Maragos, 30, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in 2010. He spent just over a year with the 49ers before he was waived and later and later signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

It wasn’t until 2014 that Maragos joined the Eagles. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $7.5 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1.75 million and $2 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Maragos has appeared in all six games and recorded 11 tackles for the Eagles.
