Eagles Place S Rodney McLeod On IR, Promote WR DeAndre Carter

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Saturday that they’ve promoted WR DeAndre Carter to their active roster and placed S Rodney McLeod on injured reserve.

Earlier in the week, Derrick Gunn reported that McLeod underwent surgery for a torn MCL his 2018 season is over, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

McLeod, 28, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia back in 2012. After four years with the Rams, McLeod departed in free agency and signed a five-year, $37 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed with the Eagles in 2016.

McLeod stands to make base salaries of $6 million (2018), $7.5 million (2019) and $8.5 million (2020) over the remainder of the agreement.

In 2018, McLeod appeared in three games for the Eagles and recorded 10 tackles, no interceptions and four pass defenses.
