Ian Rapoport mentions that the “most likely, cautious scenario” is that the Eagles will place QB Carson Wentz on the active/PUP list to open training camp.

If the Eagles were to place Wentz on the PUP list, they could activate him at any point before the start of the season and Rapoport says that this would not be an indication that he’ll start the season on reserve/PUP list, which would cost him the first six games of the regular season.

Rapoport adds that the other option is to have Wentz practice on a limited basis so he can remain out on the field with his teammates.

Wentz’s rehab is reportedly going well and Rapoport says that it just doesn’t make sense to have him practice fully yet.

Wentz was a clear MVP candidate at the time he was placed on injured reserve in December with a torn ACL.

Wentz, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $26.7 million contract that included a $16.7 million signing bonus.

Wentz stands to make base salaries of $2.87 million and $4.08 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Wentz appeared in 13 games for the Eagles and threw for 3,296 yards while completing 60.2 percent of his passes to go along with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 299 yards.

We’ll have more regarding Wentz as the news is available.
