Eagles Ready To Approach Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie & Jeremy Maclin About Contract Extensions?

Eric Edholm of Pro Footbal Weekly writes that the Eagles could approach CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and WR  Jeremy Maclin about contract extensions that would keep both players in Philadelphia for the foreseeable future.

We are going to be a draft-and-develop type of team that tries to retain as many of our own players as we can,” said GM Howie Roseman when asked about the team’s plan for the two players. “We tried to do that in the offseason with Todd and Evan and DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy, and I think that’s going to be the model for the foreseeable future.

Rodgers-Cromartie deal expires after the season and figures to be one of the best available cornerbacks on the open market. Maclin is under team control  through next season, so they have some options with him.

We Rodgers-Cromartie is listed as the No. 18 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents List.
