The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve released OT Demetress Bell and signed former CFL DE Chris McCoy.
Bell, 28, drew very little interest on the open market, despite a number of NFL team’s being in need of help at the offensive tackle position. Bell had a $8.5 million roster bonus, which was almost certain to be denied, so it’s not all that shocking to see the Eagles take care of this now.
Bell was rated as the third-worst offensive tackle in the league by Pro Football Focus this season, so there’s a chance that he may have a hard time finding another job this offseason.
