Eagles Reportedly “In Love” With RB Ezekiel Elliott

Jason La Canfora continues to hear that the Eagles “are in love” with Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott and he’s likely to be their guy at No. 8 overall if both Jared Goff and Carson Wentz aren’t on the board.

La Canfora mentions that Philadelphia has done “extensive work” on Elliot in recent months and could use a running back after trading DeMarco Murray to the Titans a month ago.

La Canfora considers Elliott to be a “plug-and-play” option for a team and certainly worthy of a top-10 pick.

Interestingly enough, La Canfora has spoken to executives around the league who believe Eagles GM Howie Roseman is deadset on “making a huge splash” in this draft, which could include trading up for a quarterback. Although, La Canfora is skeptical of them moving up for a quarterback.

This isn’t the first we’ve heard about Elliott being an option for the Eagles. However, he would have to get past the Cowboys at No. 4 overall.

For what it’s worth, we have the Eagles taking Elliott at No. 8 overall in our most recent 2016 NFL Mock Draft.

During his three years at Ohio State, Elliott ran for 3,961 yards on 592 carries (6.7 YPC) to go along with 58 receptions for 449 yards receiving 44 total touchdowns.
