Eagles Reportedly Want Trade With Browns Done Today, Could Cost Less Than Reported

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned during an interview with 97.5 ESPN that Eagles are trying to close the deal with the Browns for the No. 2 overall pick.

In fact, Schefter says that the Eagles would like to have a deal completed today, but the Browns apparently have other plans.

If it were up the Eagles, the deal would be done today,” Schefter said, via the Newark Star-Ledger. “but Cleveland is taking their time and being methodical, maybe another team ponies up”

Last night, Alex Marvez reports that if the Browns and Eagles reach an agreement on a trade that would send the No. 2 overall pick to Philadelphia, it would include the two teams swapping first-round picks in 2016 with the Eagles sending the Browns two third-round picks this year, their first-rounder in 2017 and their 2017 third-round selection.

However, Schefter mentioned during the interview that he believes the price to move up to No. 2 would be less than that.

As of now, the consensus is that Jared Goff is likely headed to the Rams at No. 1 overall, which means the Eagles could come away with Carson Wentz at the No. 2 spot.

Reports have said that the Browns were “actively shopping” their No. 2 pick overall pick around the league, so there’s still a chance another team could get involved such as the 49ers.

We’ll have more regarding a potential trade involving the Browns No. 2 pick as the news is available.
