Eagles Rescind Restricted Offer Sheet To RB Chris Polk

Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reports that the Eagles have rescinded the restricted free agent tender they extended to RB Chris Polk a few months ago.

  • This means Polk is now an unrestricted free agent.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports previously mentioned that this was a possibility given that the Eagles came away from free agency with running backs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews.

Philadelphia used an original-round tender on Polk, which means they wouldn’t have received any draft compensation had he signed an offer sheet with another team.

Polk, 25, signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in 2012.

In 2014, Polk ran for 172 yards on 46 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 16 yards and four touchdowns over the course of 14 games. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 97 snaps last season to go along with a positive rating overall.
