Eagles Restructure G Brandon Brooks’ Contract

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Eagles converted $745,588 of Pro Bowl G Brandon Brooks‘ remaining base salary to a signing bonus and dropped his base salary rate to the league minimum of $775,000.

This moves freed up $559,191 in cap space for the Eagles.

Brooks, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Texans before signing a five-year, $40 million contract that included $21 million guaranteed last year.

Brooks stands to make salaries of $8.5 million and $7.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Brooks has appeared in 14 games for the Eagles and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 3 guard out of 78 qualifying players.
