Eagles RT Lane Johnson Suffers MCL Sprain, Could Miss A Month

Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport report that Eagles RT Lane Johnson suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, based on the initial diagnosis.

  • According to Adam Schefter, Johnson has a Grade 2 sprain and could be sidelined for about a month.

The good news for the Eagles is that they have their bye coming up.

Johnson was injured on the Eagles’ opening drive of the game and was later taken to the locker room on a cart.

Johnson, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He had one year remaining on his four-year, $19.853 million rookie contract when the Eagles elected to sign him to a five-year extension worth $56.26 million that can max out at $60.01 million based on Pro Bowl escalators back in 2016.

Johnson stands to make base salaries of $10 million and $10.6 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Johnson has appeared in eight games for the Eagles.

We’ll have more regarding Johnson as the news is available.
