The Philadelphia Eagles have officially ruled out QB Sam Bradford (concussion/shoulder) for Week 11’s game against the Buccaneers.
This, of course, means Mark Sanchez will get his first start of the season in place of Bradford.
Bradford is dealing with an AC sprain in his non-throwing shoulder to go along with a concussion, and recent reports have said that he’s still in the early stages of the NFL’s concussions protocol, so it’s not surprising to see him ruled out.
In relief of Bradford, Mark Sanchez completed 14-of-23 passes for 156 yards and an interception during their Week 10 loss to the Dolphins.
Bradford, 28, is in the final year of his six-year, $78 million contract that included $50 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $12.985 million for the 2015 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.
Entering today’s game, Bradford has thrown for 2,297 yards while completing 63.9 percent of his passes to go along with 11 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 19 quarterback out of 35 qualifying players.
