Eagles & Seahawks Showed Interest In Potential Trade For Colts RB Frank Gore

According to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, the Colts and Eagles discussed a trade that would have sent veteran RB Frank Gore to Philadelphia. However, the Eagles agreed to a deal with the Dolphins for Jay Ajayi instead.

Holder adds that the Seahawks also showed some interest in Gore as well, but no deal ever materialized.

The Colts were listening to trade offers for a number of their veteran players, but it was clear that Indianapolis had no plans to sell low on anyone. Ultimately, the trade deadline passed without any trades being finalized by the Colts.

Gore, 34, is a former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2005. He spent 10 seasons in San Francisco before signing a three-year, $12 million contract that included $7.5 million guaranteed with the Colts back in 2015.

Gore will make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2017, Gore has appeared in eight games and rushed for 404 yards on 110 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 119 yards receiving and two total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 running back out of 54 qualifying players.
